Hawk Appoints Former FATF Delegate & Regulatory Expert Dr. Shlomit Wagman as Strategic Advisor

Shlomit Wagman Press Release

Hawk, the leading global provider of AI-powered anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud prevention technology, today announced the appointment of Dr. Shlomit Wagman as a Strategic Advisor. A world-renowned authority on financial crime, regulation, and artificial intelligence, Dr. Wagman brings decades of high-level policy and enforcement experience to Hawk as the company redefines the global approach to financial crime and compliance with explainable AI.

Dr. Wagman is widely recognized for her transformative leadership as the former Director-General of the Israel Money Laundering and Terror Financing Prohibition Authority (IMPA). During her tenure, she led Israel’s historic accession to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), positioning the country among the top three most effective global regimes for fighting financial crime. She also served as a head of the country's Delegation to the FATF and as Co-Chair of its Risk Working Group.

"We are honored to welcome Shlomit as Strategic Advisor at a pivotal moment for the financial industry," said Tobias Schweiger, CEO and Co-Founder of Hawk. "As financial institutions move beyond legacy systems to fully embrace artificial intelligence in its many forms, Shlomit’s unique perspective on the intersection of global regulation and agentic AI will be invaluable."

In addition to her regulatory career, Dr. Wagman is currently a Fellow at Harvard University. She has been a leading voice on technology for AML/CFT and fraud, testifying before the U.S. Senate and advising governments on AI, financial crime, cryptocurrency, and national security.

"The financial world is at a crossroads where the sophistication of criminal networks can only be met with equally sophisticated AI," said Dr. Shlomit Wagman. "Hawk has distinguished itself by creating technology that doesn't just reduce noise, but actively uncovers complex, novel crime patterns while maintaining the transparency that regulators demand.

I’ve been very impressed by Hawk’s technology, tools, and team, and I am excited to be working with them to bring more effective, tech-forward strategies to the evolving regulatory landscape."

Hawk continues to set new benchmarks for anti-financial crime by enabling financial institutions to drive unprecedented gains in both detection accuracy and operational scale using its AI-native platform. The company’s recent launch of Analytics Studio, its solution for AI lifecycle management, and its work with Agentic AI for financial crime and compliance, underscores its commitment to leveraging explainable AI throughout the detection and investigation process. This philosophy ensures that Hawk customers aren’t just keeping pace with evolving criminal typologies but staying ahead of them.
