Hawk Joins Frankfurt’s safeAML Initiative to Strengthen Germany’s Fight Against Financial Crime

Hawk, the leading provider of AI-powered anti-money laundering (AML), screening, and fraud prevention solutions, today announced its participation in Frankfurt’s safeAML initiative.
Hawk joins Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, and N26 in the initiative led by the State of Hesse, which aims to combat financial crime in Europe by detecting suspicious money flows between multiple bank accounts more quickly, while also digitizing interbank comparisons and identifying suspicious patterns.
EuroDaT — Europe’s first transaction-based data trustee — began the design and development of the safeAML project in 2023, in partnership with pilot banks, under the guidance of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and supported by Hawk as well as d-fine, Deloitte, and spotixx.
Hawk’s advanced AI models enable faster detection of illicit money flows, reducing the burden of manual processes and enabling financial institutions to make their AML operations more effective and efficient.
Tobias Schweiger, CEO and Co-founder of Hawk, said: “We are delighted to contribute our AI technology and expertise to the safeAML initiative. It is an important step in the fight against money laundering in Germany. A secure and compliant framework for data exchange will help to significantly improve cooperation between financial institutions in the fight against money laundering.”
