Ben Pannier joins Hawk as CTO

Hawk, the leading provider of AI-powered anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud prevention solutions, today announced the appointment of Ben Pannier as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As CTO, Ben will spearhead Hawk’s technology and innovation strategies as the company’s rapid growth continues.

Ben brings extensive experience in scaling transactional platforms in highly regulated environments. Having held leadership roles at Tide, Zalando, and PayU, Ben has a proven track record of driving platform development, mentoring high-performing engineering teams, and aligning technical strategy with business growth.

Tobias Schweiger, CEO & Co-founder at Hawk, said; "Ben’s expertise and proven leadership in developing and running mission-critical systems in the financial sector makes him the ideal fit for Hawk. We’re seeing unprecedented demand from banks and payment companies that want to accelerate their use of AI for AML and fraud, based on the transformative results they’re seeing. Our mission is to continue to deliver the innovation, scalability, quality and flexibility that our customers need and Ben will be instrumental in continuing that as we expand."

Ben Pannier, CTO at Hawk, said; "I’m delighted to join Hawk as Chief Technology Officer. I’ve been deeply impressed by the AI impact that Hawk is delivering to its customers, as well as the exceptionally talented Hawk team and the company’s strong technology foundations. Many growing companies need to reengineer their technology as they scale - Hawk’s vision of an AI-native, real-time anti-financial crime platform was in place from the beginning and that will enable us to rapidly deliver even greater value to the banks and payment companies we serve going forwards."

Hawk has continued to double its revenues year on year, fueled by the transformative impact of its AI technology for financial institutions worldwide. The company’s most recent innovation, the AML AI Overlay - designed to enable banks to enhance AML accuracy, speed, and explainability without replacing existing systems - is achieving 85% accuracy, significantly reducing false positives and increasing risk coverage. Hawk is also leading innovation in generative AI and real-time anti-financial crime applications.

Hawk has also been continuing to strengthen its team and leadership with the addition of several other AML and fraud industry veterans. Daniel Bastin, the newly appointed SVP of Global Enterprise Sales, brings nearly 20 years of experience, most recently at SymphonyAI. Gabriele Santoro, now VP of Global Customer Success, adds over two decades of expertise, having previously held key roles at Quantexa and Featurespace.
