Hawk, the leading provider of AI-powered anti-financial crime technology, today announced the appointment of Eric Larsson as Chief Financial Officer.
Eric will lead Hawk's finance function and join the executive leadership team, reporting to CEO and Co-Founder Tobias Schweiger. He is based in New York.
Eric brings nearly two decades of finance leadership in enterprise software, spanning cybersecurity and financial crime technology. From 2015 to 2021 he held a series of finance leadership roles at NICE, ultimately leading global finance and operations for NICE Actimize. He began his technology career at IBM, where he spent seven years in software and cloud finance. He holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
"Eric has tremendous experience scaling finance teams through rapid growth," said Tobias Schweiger, CEO and Co-Founder of Hawk. "He also brings extensive knowledge of the anti-financial crime sector. That combination will support Hawk's continued growth in the U.S., Europe and beyond, as banks and payment companies replace legacy fraud and AML systems with AI-supported solutions that drive better efficiency and risk coverage."
"The results that Hawk is delivering for its customers are clear proof that AI can have a hugely positive impact on the financial crime and compliance sector. The opportunities that lie ahead are significant," said Eric Larsson, Chief Financial Officer of Hawk. "I've been very impressed by Hawk's technology and talented team, and I'm looking forward to building the financial foundation for the company's next stage of growth."
Hawk's growth has continued in 2026, powered by accelerating demand for AI in financial crime and compliance. The company has announced impressive results from a number of customer engagements, including significant wins from its partnership with Commerzbank, where Hawk’s AI technology is detecting more novel cases of money laundering while increasing alert accuracy to reduce false positives. The company has also extended its platform with several new products and capabilities in AML, risk screening, and agentic AI.
