Hawk Releases Regulatory Reporting Agent to Increase Quality and Efficiency of SAR Filings
Hawk, the leading provider of AI-powered anti-money laundering (AML), screening, and fraud prevention solutions, today launched its Regulatory Reporting Agent.
As the latest addition to Hawk's agentic AI suite, the new Regulatory Reporting Agent prepares suspicious activity reports (SARs) for an analyst to review, turning a closed case into a filing-ready report in minutes, rather than hours.
Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are the critical link between financial institutions and the authorities. Quality matters: a clear, complete narrative gives law enforcement the intelligence it needs to act and strengthen the case for prosecution.
For most banks and payment companies today, the SAR creation and filing process is resource intensive. Compliance analysts spend hours drafting lengthy narratives from scratch and re-entering data their systems have already captured. Under strict filing deadlines, individual SARs often get less attention than they need. This can result in reports that are incomplete or contain narratives that are poorly structured or vague. These reports are then returned by the authorities, resulting in more work for the analysts.
Hawk’s Regulatory Reporting Agent enables financial institutions to accelerate the filing process while improving report quality to reduce rejected filings. It:
- Drafts narratives in an institution’s format, in minutes: Hawk's agent drafts the narratives in a structure defined by an FI’s standard, so the output is ready for analysts to review and edit
- Adapts to each jurisdiction's requirements: The agent correctly maps fields by jurisdiction, and can set one global standard, applied locally, to maintain filing quality without depending on geography, team, or familiarity with a new market's rules
- Eliminates hallucinations by design: The agent treats the case as its only source, backchecking every field and narrative against the exact passage it came from, and excluding anything that can't be verified before it reaches an analyst
- Runs inside Hawk's Case Manager: The agent is part of a modern anti-financial crime system that supports a smooth handoff between AML, fraud, and screening teams, keeping the same four-eyes workflow throughout and tracking regulatory deadlines automatically
"Hawk customers can now choose to use AI throughout the financial crime and compliance journey, from detection through to regulatory reporting," said Wolfgang Berner, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Hawk.
"Many anti-financial crime teams are bandwidth-constrained, with caseloads growing faster than analysts can manage. Our platform enables FIs to apply traditional and agentic AI in the right areas to maximize efficiency and precision.
"The Regulatory Reporting Agent is the perfect example of how AI can move the needle on both efficiency and quality at the same time for the very time-consuming process of regulatory reporting."
The Regulatory Reporting Agent is the latest addition to Hawk's agentic AI suite. The suite includes the AML Investigative Agent, Customer Screening Agent, Payment Screening Agent, and CDD Agent, which combine to span alert review, case investigation, and now filing.
