Webinar On-Demand: Governing Agentic AI in AML: A Framework for Defensible Deployment
Watch today Hawk's recorded ACAMS Las Vegas session "Governing Agentic AI in AML: A Framework for Defensible Deployment."
Agentic AI has the potential to transform financial crime operations. But as these systems become more autonomous, financial institutions must calibrate governance to the risk each agent actually carries, weighing the stakes of the use case against the autonomy and permissions the system is given. This is critical to protect the institution and mitigate agentic risks like hallucination and black-box decisioning, including determining where agents can act, when human intervention is required, and how each decision should be explained.
US regulators have not yet issued (as of September 2026) specific guidance for the use of agentic AI in financial services. In the absence of this, institutions must rely on existing model risk management principles to inform how they develop governance and risk-management frameworks for the use of autonomous systems.
Key Learning Objectives
Watch Hawk, Oliver Wyman, and expert practitioners from Wintrust Financial Corporation and Stifel Financial on this webinar to better understand how to:
- Identify agentic AI use cases suited to AML and screening investigations using a risk-based materiality framework
- Evaluate the evidence (execution tracing, explainability artifacts, edge testing, and outcomes monitoring) required for defensible adoption
- Apply a decision-rights ladder, continuous quality assurance, and pre-deployment validation to agentic workflows
- Balance agent autonomy against mandatory human-in-the-loop checkpoints while managing LLM cost and efficiency trade-offs
- Avoid critical mistakes that could result in regulatory findings
